Many people, when joining the military, have aspirations of becoming a leader. Maybe a Captain, Major or even a Colonel if they perform dutifully. Few reach those goals and those who do are typically quite careful about their comments. Air Marshal Sir Beresford Peter Torrington Horsley had such a military career. He was a gunner for the Royal Air Force, pilot and flight instructor. He even had the honor of being the personal pilot for Maj. Gen. Sir Miles Graham. Obviously this gentleman had an exemplary career which carried on for many years, but in 1950 at the request of Prince Philip, this notable career got a little sideways and you can find out more in this fun article by Monad Mantis HERE.
