Kenneth Arnold 1947

In 1947, Pilot Kenneth Arnold became a household name. He coined the term “Flying Saucer” when he reported witnessing nine unusual shaped objects skipping across the sky in a manner that reminded him of a saucer shaped dish skipping across water. As pilots know, that type of aerodynamic behavior would be quite unusual and extremely difficult to understand, especially 1947. We normally don’t have two posts in the same day of the same person, however, since this was the day Kenneth Arnold made his fame, we wanted to share another article with you written by Megan Garber writing for the very prestigious “The Atlantic” and you can find the article HERE.
