The Dugway Proving Grounds, a little Southwest of Salt Lake City, has a sinister reputation for testing biological and chemical weapons among other things. It is believed they were responsible for 6,000 over sheep deaths on March 14, 1968, when equipment on a military jet armed with VX nerve gas malfunctioned, delivering the payload at a higher altitude. Furthermore, this change in altitude caused chemical to miss the intended target and drift onto the sheep. The military initially denied any wrongdoing but quietly paid out claims to the ranchers. This super-secret facility is only recently catching the public eye and in this article written by Lorraine Boissoneault, you will find the rest of the story of Area 52 HERE.
