Tamaulipas: No Hurricane Zone

The Gulf Coast of Mexico is not only a beautiful place, but a true hotbed of UFO activity. One area in particular has a belief that they are protected from hurricanes by aliens. About ¾ of a mile off of Miramar beach breakwaters in the Gulf descends sharply. The story goes that in 1966 after hurricane Ines made landfall a UFO was spotted in the sky and seen entering those waters. Since then no hurricanes have made landfall in that area and every year the story grows a little taller. Something of note, Tamaulipas was directly in the path of hurricane Hanna in 2020 before the storm lost strength and made landfall as a tropical depression.
