In 1892 China, you would have been hard-pressed to find a camera just about anywhere. So what happened when you needed to record something and you could not capture an image of it? Well in those cases it would just be a story passed down until forgotten. However in this case one of the witnesses happened to be painter Wu Youru, whose painting “Red Flame Soaring in the Sky,” is the first ever recorded event of a UFO in China. It happened on September 28 during the 18th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu at 8 PM. The object was apparently a gigantic egg and moved slowly eastward while hundreds of locals stood on Red Sparrow Bridge for better view. The craft hung in the sky softly buzzing for over 30 minutes until slowly fading away.
