UFO Opinion Poll

UFO Opinion Poll

Almost 50 years ago, in 1973, Gallup began collecting poll numbers on whether people believed UFOs were ”something real,” or “imaginary.” As recently as 1990 only 47% of people believed UFOs were “something real” while in 1978 that number was up to 57%. More recently, in 2019, 56% believe they were “something real,” with 39% believing they were “imaginary.” Then last month Quinnipiac University changed the question and asked how many believed UFOs were “man-made aircraft of unknown origin,” the response was a surprising 42% while another 35% believed they were “aircraft from another world.” These numbers are troubling to us because it reminds us of another United States government disinformation campaign to turn the subject away from UFOs possibly having extraterrestrial origins. Karlyn Bowman writing for Forbes has done an interesting piece covering these numbers and you can learn more about it HERE.
